Grace died September 13, 2007 in Englewood, Montgomery Co., OH. Obit: WADE, Grace 90 of Englewood, died Thursday September 13, 2007 at Grace Brethren Village. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years Walter O. Wade in 2005 and a son William Gary Wade. Grace is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Gerald & Leslie Wade of Dayton, two daughters and sons-in-law Sandra & Charles Criddle of ME, Debra & Wendell Kerr of MO, a sister and brother-in-law Rosa & Ken Neal of UT, a brother and sister-in-law Calvin & Blue Newsome of AL, 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, many, many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was very active in the Church. She was also a member of the Gray Ladies of William Beaumont Army Hospital, MOWW (Military Order of World Wars), PTA for many years, the El Paso Birthday Club, Young Womens Association, Relief Society and a Genealogist. Grace’s family will receive friends Monday evening September 24, 2007 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME ENGLEWOOD CHAPEL, 675 West Wenger Road. Her funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday September 28, 2007 at the Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, TX, with Bishop Edwards presiding, burial will follow in Ft. She married Walter Omer Wade January 25, 1941 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Walter was born June 29, 1917 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Walter died March 25, 2005 in El Paso, El Paso Co., TX. Obit: Walter Omer Wade passed away 25 March 2005 at his home in El Paso. He was born in Phenix City, Alabama on 29 June 1917, to Lester and Betty Wade, and has been resident of El Paso since 1954. He is survived by his wife Grace Newsome, one son, Gerald, two daughters, Sandra and Debra, 18 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Walter retired from the Army in 1957 after 20 years of service where he rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel. During his Army career, Walter was the recipient of two Bronze Stars with Valor (Germany and Korea), Merit of Reconnaissance, Air Medal, Commendation Ribbons, and various other medals. While initially coming to El Paso in the military, Walter and Grace retired in El Paso where he joined the insurance adjuster firm of TBL. As part of TBL, Walter became a leader in the El Paso insurance industry. Walter was involved with athletic programs at Burgess, Eastwood, City Softball, and with the LDS church. He was a charter member of the El Paso Chapter of the Military Order of World Wars where he served in various capacities. As a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Walter served in various organizations involved with church youth, sports, and priesthood. Viewing will be at the Sunset Funeral Home, Giles and Carolina, Wednesday, 30 March, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. The funeral will be at the Lee Trevino LDS Chapel, Thursday, 31 March, 11:30 AM; followed by internment at the Fort Bliss Military Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
