James died January 11, 1998 in Mabank, Kaufman Co., TX. OBIT: James Carter (J. C.) Meredith, 71, of Mabank, TX, formerly of Phenix City, AL, died Sunday January 11, 1998 at his home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a. m. Friday, January 16, 1998 at Newsome Cemetery, Phenix City, AL according to McMullen Funeral Home – Colonial Chapel, Phenix City, AL. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P. M. Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Meredith was born December 1, 1926 in Phenix City, the son of the late Arnold and Myrtle Meredith. He had lived in the Dallas, TX area for thirty five years. He was retired from the Southwestern Medical College. Survivors include his wife, Linda Meredith; two sons, Wayne and Richard Meredith; two daughters, Patricia Braun and Susan Enfinger; three sisters, Juliette Johnson, Peggie Holley and Thelma Huckaba; twelve grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He married twice. He married Linda (___). He married Lillian Irene Parr October 30,1944 in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA. Lillian was born November 9, 1926 in AL. Lillian was the daughter of Ontris Ourson Alfred Parr and Inez (___). Lillian died January 13, 2008 in Grand Prairie, Tarrant Co., TX.
