He married Mary Ellen Ellis June 10, 1875 in Clay Co., IL. Mary was born November 15, 1859 in Redding Mills, Newton Co., MO. Gravemakker says born 1858 Mary was the daughter of Charles Ellis and Nancy Carlisle.
Mary died February 23, 1943 in Van Nuys, Los Angeles Co., CA.
