Allgood, who was killed at the age of 29 years in the battle for the Anzio beachhead in Italy on Sept. 12, 1944, will be conducted at the Baptist church in Douthat at 2 p.m. Wednesday, the Rev. D. L. Cook of Miami will officiate. Surviving besides his mother are three brothers in service, Capt. John L. Allgood, stationed at Taunton, Mass., First Lieut. Tom L. Allgood, with the U. S. Army somewhere in Italy, and S 1-c Gene W. Allgood, presently assigned to a naval base at Boston, Mass.; two other brothers, Marion and Jerry Allgood of the home, and three sisters, Mrs. Gail Keener, 328 G. street northeast, Miami, Mrs. Theda Starling, Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. Geneva Chambers, West Helena, Ark. Pallbearers will be Bob Abernathy, Clyde Hawk, Paul Maudlin, Noah Chambers, Dyer Qualls and Allen Wright. Military services will be held at the grave in G.A.R. cemetery. The son of Mrs. Faye Allgood of 119 North Walnut street in Commerce, the deceased soldier was employed by the Eagle-Picher Mining and Smelting company before he entered service. The body will lie in state at the Goodson-Durnil Funeral home in Miami until the funeral hour.
