Claris died July 25, 2003 in Paragould, Greene Co, AR. OBIT: Claris Elaine Walker Newsom, 70, of Paragould died Friday, July 25, 2003, at her residence.
Born in Monette, she was retired from Emerson Electric and was a member of the Assembly of God.
Survivors include one son, Mike Newsom of Paragould; two brothers, Harold Walker and Maurice Walker, both of Mountain Home; and two granddaughters, Tayler Newsom and Callie Newsom, both of Paragould.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.R. and Bulah Walker, one brother and two sisters.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Shiloh Cemetery at Paragould , with Dennis Scudder officiating. Mitchell Funeral Home of Paragould is in charge of arrangements.
The funeral procession will leave Mitchell Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Walker, Jarrod Lyerly, Mike Lyerly, Bruce Conger, Jerry Hoepfl and Rick Norman.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She married Jim Newsom 1961. Jim was born 1930.
Claris Elaine Walker and Jim Newsom had the following child:
