Bessie died September 6, 1987 in Sebring, Highlands Co., FL. In 1910 Joe and hs sister Maggie were living with Elizabeth and her husband Sebe Hagler in Cabarrus Co., NC

OBIT: Mary Jo (Josephine) Shelton, 93 passed away on December 11, 2014 in South Pasadena Fl. She had lived in Florida for many years but was a native of Concord. A graveside service was held at Oakwood Cemetery. She was born on May 7, 1921 to Joseph Henry and Bessie Athea Shinn Shelton. She loved flowers, family history, and visiting with people. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, John Shelton and Betty Shelton Bacher. Miss Shelton is survived by her cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
