Ruby E.10 Dinkins (Matronia Jeanette (Tronia)9 Allgood, Joseph (Joe) John8, John William7, Henry Robert6, William (Pikey) Henry5, William John4, Edward3, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Morganton, Burke Co., NC November 16, 1920. Ruby died August 26, 2005 in High Point, Guilford Co., NC. Ruby Dinkins Hilliard, 84, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at her home. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point. Her pastor, Dr. James A. Summey, will officiate. Interment will be in Floral Garden Park Cemetery.
She was born November 16, 1920 in Yadkin County, daughter to Harrison C. and Matronia J. Allgood Dinkins. Not only was she a homemaker, but also a caretaker which she did for everyone. She was an active member of English Road Baptist Church, which she loved dearly. She was always helping, cooking, and doing in the life of her church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Madison Hilliard on April 18, 2003 after 61 years of marriage.
Surviving are her children, Keith Hilliard and Vickie Hutchens both of High Point. Also surviving are four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Antliee Hill and Iris Horner of High Point.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at Cumby's in High Point.
Pallbearers will be Terry Dawson, Chris Hilliard, Erik Hutchens, Terry Hutchens Jr., Marty Payne and David Trivette.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to her caretakers, Evelyn Leonard, Yvolanda Rivers, Elaine Person, Irene, Hospice of the Piedmont and her hospice nurse, Janet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1801 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
She married Dewey Madison Hilliard 1942. Dewey was born October 29, 1914 in Chatham Co., NC. Dewey was the son of Lester H. Hilliard and Lillie Phillips. Dewey died April 18, 2003 in High Point, Guilford Co., NC. Dewey was buried in the Floral Garden Park Cemetary, High Point, Guilford County, North Carolina
