She married Harlan (Bud) D. Gammel Juy 5, 1958. Harlan was born August 18,1936 in Oakland, NE. Harlan was the son of Dallas Gammel and Anna Maria Anderson. Harlan died March 3, 2014 in Omaha, Douglas Co., NE. OBIT: Harlan “Bud” Gammel was born August 18, 1936 in Oakland, NE to Dallas & Anna Maria (Anderson) Gammel. He was the youngest of six children. When Bud was 7 months old the family moved from Oakland back to the farm in the Prairie View area. Bud attended school in District 66 until the family moved to Omaha. He graduated from North High School in May of 1954. After attending Accounting School at the Commercial Extension School of Commerce in 1957, Bud was employed by Andrew Murphy Chrysler Plymouth. He was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Omaha. Bud was united in marriage to Betty (Walker) Gammel on July 5, 1958. Of this union, one child was born, Todd Allen Gammel.

The first few years after their marriage, Bud & Betty resided in Omaha, NE & Lake Okoboji, IA. During this time, Bud was employed with the Dillon Hotels in Omaha & the New Inn in Lake Okoboji. Bud began his career as a Car Salesman in the ‘60’s working for various dealerships including: Rosen Novak, General Pontiac, H & H Chevrolet, & Huber Chevrolet. He earned various awards in salesmanship including “Third Top Salesman in the Nation” in 1968. Bud retired from Huber Chevrolet in September of 2002.

Bud’s favorite pastimes were fishing & boating. He built his first boat when he was just a teenager. Bud loved to cruise around Lake Okoboji and reminisce about “the good old days”. He & his brother-in-law, Buel, spent many hours fishing at Gavin’s Point Dam, hoping to bring home their limit.

Bud was preceded in death by his four sisters; Doris (Buel) Frisk of Oakland, NE; Helen (Harold) Sampson of Omaha, NE; Shirley (Robert) Kunze of Portland, OR and Frances (Don) Perazzo of Omaha, NE.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Gammel; son, Todd (Kelly) Gammel; grandsons, Dylan, Brayden & Jackson Gammel of Omaha, NE; sister, Marie Gerch of Fort Worth, TX and many beloved nieces, nephews and friends.
