Marlene died March 30, 2014 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK. OBIT: Marlene June (Raper) Garner, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Apr. 30, 2014 in Oklahoma City after a short illness.
She was born Apr. 20, 1932 in Milburn, OK to Cecile (Lorance) Scott and William R. Raper.
She married David J. Cargill in 1947 and moved to California where she raised her three daughters.
In 1976, she married Delmar L. Garner and for 36 years, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Delmar loved hunting and fishing and she would often accompany him on his many deer and elk hunting trips.
When not traveling, she spent many hours quilting. Marlene was a homemaker while raising her children, and then worked 20 years for Kaiser Permanente Hospital, retiring in 1990.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar; her mother, father; sister, Carole Jean Carson; and great-grandson, Parker Allen Koepke.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Reece) Davis of Galt, CA, Robin (Richard) Paulson of Wheatland, OK, Cecilia Cargill of Oklahoma City, Janet (Ron) Chappelear of Mustang, OK and Steve (Karen) Garner of Mustang, OK; seven grandchildren, April, Tamra, Brandon, Yul, Dustin, Marlena and Cecidra; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She married twice. She married David Jasper Cargill 1947. David was born June 7, 1930 in Girard, TX. David was the son of Mary Clarence Callen. David died November 11, 2003 in Nampa, Canyon Co., ID. She married Delmar (Del) Lee Garner 1976. Delmar was born April 21, 1925 in MO. Delmar was the son of Walter Franklin Garner and Edna Hadlock. Delmar died October 18, 2012 in Yukon, Canadian Co., OK. OBIT: Survived by his wife Marlene (Raper) son Steve Garner and wife Karen of Mustang, four daughters Janet Chappelear and husband Ron of Mustang, Deborah Davis and husband Reece of Galt, CA, Robin Paulson and husband Rick of Wheatland, Cecilia Cargill of Wheatland and brother Robert Cantrell and wife Lisa of Texas. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
