Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, July 6 at 2:00 CDT in the Highplains United Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Ralph Lee and Rev. F. J. Perkins officiated. Surviving Mr. Lucas are his wife, the former Daisy Norris; a brother, Charles Lucas, Sr. of Big Spring; a sister, Mrs. Mollie Trent of Vine Grove; a half-brother, James Lucas and a half-sister, Mrs. Willard Preston, both of Cecelia, Ky. Pallbearers were Harold, Julius, Walter, Lee, Charles Jr., Kenneth, and Jackie Lucas Delmer and Daisy are buried in the High Plains United Methodist Church Cemetery

He married Daisy Norris April 25, 1917. Daisy was born December 6, 1898 in Breckinridge Co., KY. Daisy was the daughter of Henry Norris and Maggie L. (___). Daisy died April 16, 1992 in Breckinridge Co., KY.
