She was born November 8, 1925 in Ashe County, North Carolina and moved to North Port in 1991 from Winston-Salem, NC. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of North Port. She loved gardening and community activities. She is survived by her loving family, two daughters, Kay Lawson of North Port and Debbie Marshall of Pfafftown, NC; a sister, Bonnie Eberts of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Alma Farmer of Winston-Salem and Carl Lee Farmer of Lenoir, NC; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Nelson Maynard who died in 2002.
