Doris died March 31, 2008 in High Point, Guilford Co., NC. OBIT: Ms. Doris Dean Shermer, 73 of Thomasville, passed away on March 31, 2008 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on Feb. 10, 1935 in Wilkes County to Hilton Pearson and Helen Sprinkle Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband: Luther Shermer, daughter: Barbara Kay Pinion and brother: Eugene Pearson.
Doris loved to bake, enjoyed her working life, and enjoyed being with her family.
She is survived by daughters: Brenda Talley and husband Athel of Yadkinville, Kathy Cook of Wilkesboro, Darlene Faye Garner of High Point, and Vickie Marie Nance and husband Mike of Clemmons. Her sons: Donald King and wife Susan of Boonville, Eddie King and wife Irene of Atlanta, Georia. Also surviving are sisters: Hilda Weatherman and husband James of Jonesville and Frances Wooden and Husband Allen of Thomasville, twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Family Funeral Care in Thomasville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., April 3, 2008 at Family funeral Care Chapel officiated by the Rev. Roger Walls of Victory Baptist Church, followed by interment in Holly Hill Memorial Park.
She married twice. She married Luther Jackson Shermer. Luther was born October 1, 1929. Luther was the son of Evander E Shermer and Claire (___). Luther died February 13, 1985 in Thomasville, Davidson Co., NC. She married Miles J. (Buck) King JR. Miles is the son of Miles J. King.
