Alonzo died April 2, 2008 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC. OBIT: Alonzo Lee Plowman Jr., 83, of Pfafftown passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County on July 10, 1924, to Alonzo Lee Sr. and Viola Lakey Plowman. Mr. Plowman was a member of Enon Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his previous wife, Lena Mae Marler; four daughters, Tina (Eric) Johnson of East Bend, Cheryl (Larry) Garris of East Bend, Evalee (Kevin) Goings of Mocksville, Tammy (Michael) Barker of Pfafftown; two sons, Grant (Lisa) Plowman of Stanleyville, Joe (Judy) Plowman of Rural Hall; four sisters, Evalee Matthews of Tennessee, Ann Wilson of Winston-Salem, Sue Pope of Richmond, Va., Jamie Slater of East Bend, Mable Styers of East Bend; three brothers, Jack Plowman of South Carolina, Buddy Plowman of East Bend, Thurman Plowman of East Bend; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held Saturday, April 5, at Enon Baptist Church in East Bend. Huff Funeral Home of East Bend is serving the family.
