Leland died October 30, 1981 in Athens, Clarke Co., GA. OBIT: GA, died Friday at St. Mary's Hospital in Athens. Born in Franklin County, he was a son of the late E. Z. and Trudie Sewell McDuffie. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and a retired employee of Coats and Clark in Toccoa. Surviving are his wife, Hazel Reynolds McDuffie of the home; daughter, Mrs. Herbert (Marie) Whitworth of Lavonia; sisters, Mrs. Helen Baumann of Fort Meyers, FL, Mrs. G. A. (Evelyn) Cronic of Lula, Mrs. Ed (Ruth) Williams of Augusta; 2 stepgrandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at New Bethel Bapt. Church with Rev. G. A. Cronic and Rev. Hollis McFarlin officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
He married Hazel Reynolds. Hazel was born 1924.
