He married Alice Mabel Reese August 18, 1935 in Clovis, Curry Co., NM. Alice was born September 15, 1917 in Bellview, NM. Alice was the daughter of James Reese and Mollie (___). Alice died April 27, 2006 in Broadview, Curry Co., NM. OBIT: Alice Mabel Hutchins, 88, of Broadview, died Thursday, April 27, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 15, 1917, to James and Mollie Reese who homesteaded in the Bellview community in 1910.
She was a graduate of Bellview High School. She married Cleat L. Hutchins on Aug. 18, 1935. They resided in Clovis for the next five years where her husband worked as a barber. They were married for 67 years before he died on Dec. 7, 2002. In November of 1940 their only child, Marilynn Kay, was born.
She was a reporter for the Clovis News Journal, reporting the local Bellview and Broadview news for several years.
Family members said she was a active member of the community and was always helping someone.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a brother, Gary D. Reese of Hayward, Calif.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilynn K. Foster (and husband, Artie) of Huntington Beach, Calif.; granddaughters, Christie Schubert (Eric) of Dalton Gardens, Idaho, and Teresa Kish (Scott) of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; a great-grandson, Dillon Schubert; a great-granddaughters, Bethany and Savannah Kish; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pastor Garth Hyde will officiate services.
Burial will be at Grady Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tommy Doolittle, Caleb Brumley, Mike Brumley, Bill Bollinger, Storm Gerhart and Jerry Grimes.
Cleatis Lafayette Hutchins and Alice Mabel Reese had the following child:
