Ruby died May 15, 2006 in New Albany, Floyd Co., IN. OBIT: Ruby E. Wise, 82, Corydon, died Monday afternoon, May 15, 2006, at Providence Retirement Home in New Albany.
A native of Garfield, Ky., born Feb. 3, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Noah and Hazel Lucas Skaggs.
She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New Middletown and Louisville Girls High School Alumni.
Survivors include five sons, Randal L. Wise of Richmond, Stephen M. Wise of Orange, Calif., Bruce E. Wise of Mojave, Calif., and Mitchell E. and Troy N. Wise, both of Corydon; three daughters, Nedra Henning of Louisville, Karen Singer of Jeffersonville and Deborah Cardwell of Morgantown, Ky.; a brother, Ralph Skaggs of Brandenburg; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Wednesday, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 18, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Friday, May 19, after 9 a.m. at Gehlbach & Royse Funeral Home in Corydon.
Funeral: Friday, May 19, at 1 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with burial in St. Andrews Cemetery in Louisville.
Ruby was buried in the Saint Andrew Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY
She married James Randall Wise April 8, 1944 in Okolona, Jefferson Co., KY. James was born September 16, 1917 in Pitts Point, Hardin Co., KY. James was the son of Leo Casburg Wise and Mary Edith Wooldridge. James died April 1, 1998 in New Albany, Floyd Co., IN.
