IN March 6, 1942. Tophel died January 31, 2011 in Clinton, Vermillion Co., IN. OBIT: Tophel “Buddy” Secuskie Jr., 68, of Montezuma, died at 12:35 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at The Waters of Clinton. Born March 6, 1942, in Muncie, he was the son of Tophel Sr. and Tressie Phillips Secuskie. His wife, Brenda Joy Woodruff Secuskie, whom he married May 4, 1963, preceded him in death May 31, 2001. He was a retired boilermaker with Local 374. He was a member of Montezuma Christian Church, Lodge 89 Free & Accepted Masons, Zorah Shrine and Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. Survivors include two sons, Gary and DaLee Secuskie of Mecca and Tophel III and Julie Secuskie of Rockville; one daughter Kim and Todd Wickens of Cayuga; one sister, Linda Varvel of Clinton; one brother, Ernie Secuskie of Indianapolis; ten grandchildren, Courtney Secuskie, Heidi Secuskie, Gary Michael Secuskie, Tophel Secuskie IV, Sydney Secuskie, Gage Secuskie, Kyle Wickens, Michaela Wickens, Lauren Haynorth and Malayna Haynorth. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 6, at Montezuma Christian Church, with Rev. Craig Arnold officiating. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, January 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Brown-Mack Funeral Home in Montezuma, with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also start one hour prior to services Thursday. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinsons Foundation or to the Montezuma Parks Department. Tophel and Brenda are buried in the Oakland Cemetery, Montezuma, Parke Co., IN
He married Brenda Joy Wodruff May 4, 1963. Brenda was born January 12, 1946 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY. Brenda was the daughter of Fred Hollis Woodruff and Kathleen Murray. Brenda died May 31, 2001 in Montezuma, Parke Co., IN.
