Howard died April 27, 2005 in Hankamer, Chambers Co., TX. OBIT: Rev. Howard E. Greer Rev. Howard E. Greer, 68, of Hankamer, Texas passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 20, 1936 in San Angelo, Texas to William and Ollie (McDaniel) Greer, and was a 1955 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown. He met and took as his bride the former Lella Mae Isaacks at Central Assembly of God Church in Baytown on June 28, 1956. After his ordination as an Assembly of God minister, he served as pastor of numerous churches including Harwood, Simmons Bottom, Old River, Anahuac, and Bayway Assembly of God, and served as interim pastor throughout the years. Rev. Greer lived for ministering the Word, and loved being with his family and grandchildren. He took great joy in playing the guitar and singing, accompanied by his wife, Lella Mae and his daughter, Angela. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gilbert Greer, he is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lella Mae Greer; son, Chris Greer and precious daughter in-law, Lisa, of Houston, who lovingly stayed by his side as caregiver and advocate during his illness. She is a jewel to the family. He is also survived by his three daughters and sons in-law, Angela and Ronnie Lisenby of Port Neches, Starla and Sheldon Thomas, of Elgin, and Connie and Erwin Tilton, II, of Baytown; brothers Floyd Greer and wife, Shirley, and Robert Greer and wife, Pauline; sisters Lois Wallace, Margaret Meeks, Grace Ball and husband, Nelson, Dorothy Harbour, Jean Whitfield and husband, Frank, and Edith Davis and husband, James; ten grandchildren, Jennifer and Kenneth DeHart, Kimberly and Cody Greer, Amy and Amanda Lisenby, Shane, Sheridon, and Skylar Thomas, and Nicole and Brooke Tilton; great granddaughter, Savanna DeHart; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of treasured friends, especially dear neighbors, Richard and Betty Jenkins, who were a Godsend to the family and to whom we offer special thanks. In addition, the family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, especially to Dr. Christopher J. Logothetis and nurses, Betsy and Giovanni. The family will receive friends on today from 5 to 8 p.m. at L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors, 6123 Garth Road. Service of remembrance will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2005 in the Chapel of L.A. Crespo Funeral Directors, with Rev. Bob Lawrence of Anahuac Assembly of God and Rev. James Halford of Community Christian Church, officiating
