Edward died November 20, 2006 in Crockett, Houston Co., TX. OBIT: Mr Edward Wayne Sissom,Jr age 59 of Latexo, passed away Monday, November 20, 2006 in the East Texas Medical Center Crockett. Mr Sissom was born September 29, 1947 in Dunklin County, Missouri and was a resident of Houston County most of his lifetime. Mr Sissom was a 1966 graduate of Crockett High School where he played baseball and football. Mr Sissom was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Vietnam Era. Mr Sissom was a past member of the Latexo ISD School Board of Trustees, past board member of the Crockett Merchants Little League Association and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans in Palestine. Mr Sissom was retired having worked for the Burke Center and had also worked for the P-C Ranch and Berry Gin Company. Mr Sissom was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife Bobbie Johnson Sissom, of Latexo; son Edward Wayne Sissom III and wife Kellie of Katy; daughter Dylis Anne Bobbitt and husband Jeremy of Weches; grandson Edward Wayne Sissom IV of Katy; brother Harold Sissom and wife Terri of Crockett; sisters, Sherry Allen and husband Billy of Palestine; Rachel Skinner and husband Kenneth of Gary; sisters in law Carol Anne Hoch and husband Billy of Tadmor, Sherry Kay Reed and husband, Sammy of Wesley Chapel; brother in law, Tommy Lloyd Johnson and wife Pam of Conroe; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceded in death by his parents Rev Ed Sissom Jr and Juneta Allgood Sissom; brother Victor Daniel Sissom in 2006; and father in law Tommie Johnson and mother in law, Dylis Lloyd Johnson.
Funeral services for Mr Edward Wayne (Bootie)Sissom, Jr were held Friday, November 24 at 11am in the First Assembly of God with the Rev Leroy Hinson and the Rev Bob Thompson officiating.Military graveside services followed in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
