He married Betty Jason Pope. Betty was born January 16, 1929 in oakway. Betty was the daughter of Jason William Pope and Nancy Harden. Betty died December 29, 2012 in Indialantic, Brevard Co., FL. OBIT: Betty Jason Pope Brown, a long time resident of Indialantic, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the age of 83.
Born in South Carolina on January 16, 1929 she was the daughter of Nancy Harden and Jason William Pope. She got her degree in early childhood education at the University of South Carolina, where she met her husband of 50 years. She started her teaching career in Coral Gables, Florida and then taught at three local Melbourne schools; Indialantic Elementary, University Park and Christa McAuliffe. She was beloved by her students and kept many memoirs from her teaching years. One of her fondest memories was of the "Charlie Brown" production she put on with her third grade class.
She was a faithful member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed both brown-bag Wednesdays and participating in the prayer chain. Betty was a longstanding member of the Tempo club, The daughters of the American Revolution and Panhellenic.
She is survived by two sons, Ned Allgood Brown Junior (Heather) of Satellite Beach and Jason Pope Brown (Nikki) of Winfield, Kansas; grandchildren, Susan and Cody Brown; loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned A. Brown, Sr. and three sisters, Edith Pope Grantham, Alice Pope Newman and Francis Pope Ash.
