Helen died November 5, 2003 in Bokchito, Bryan Co., OK. OBIT: A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Coffey-Murray Funeral Chapel for Helen L. Lingerfelt, 86, Bokchito, who died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, Durant. The Rev. Phillip Lykes will officiate.
She was born Thursday, Aug. 2, 1917, in Roscoe, Texas, to James G. and Modena (Naylor) Lykes. She married Murrel E. Lingerfelt Dec. 30, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was a member of Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church, where she served as pianist. She was a homemaker and a cook in different cafeterias and restaurants, including the hospital, where she was a dietitian assistant. She loved flower gardening and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband James Dalton Sewell, Feb. 14, 1966; second husband Murrel E. Lingerfelt, June 28, 1996, and brothers J. W. and Robert Naylor Lykes.
Burial will be in Bokchito Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
She married twice. She married James Dalton Sewell. James was born October 11, 1911. James was the son of (___) Wooten. James died February 14, 1966 in Los Angeles Co, CA. She married Murrel E Lingerfelt December 31, 1966. Murrel was born July 17, 1913 in Bedford Co., TN. Murrel was the son of Thomas Lingerfelt and Viola Johnson. Murrel died June 28,1996 in Grayson Co., TX.
