Jessie died October 20, 2007 in Gainesville, Cooke Co., TX. OBIT: Services for Jessie Milburn, 92, of Gainesville are set for 2 p.m. today at Grand Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Black of Grand Avenue Baptist Church and Rev. Mike Milburn of First Baptist Church in Burleson officiating. Burial will follow in New Rest Haven Cemetery under the direction of the Clement-Keel Funeral Home of Gainesville.
Mrs. Milburn died Oct. 29, 2007, at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville.
She was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Bulcher to Robert and Martha (Simon) Dennis. On June 6, 1937, she married John David Milburn in Bulcher. She was a member of Grand Avenue Baptist Church for more than 50 years. She was a credit manager and sales person for Sears Roebuck Company before retirement. She worked more than 20 years with Montgomery Ward in Gainesville. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Larry G. and Carol Milburn of Whitesboro; daughter and son-in-law, Janice O. and Alan Shapiro of Dallas; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Dexter Dennis of Gainesville and Robert Dennis Jr. of Birmingham, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Milburn in 2006; sisters, Elsie Morris and Tressie Howard; and brothers, O.H. Dennis, Earl Dennis and Dale Dennis.
Pallbearers are Joe Dorman, Don Popkess, Mark Lewis, Phillip Dozier, Jeffrey Shapiro, Bobby Dorman, Brandon Dozier and Blake Popkess. n
