L. died October 2, 2011 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN. OBIT: L. Elaine Dutcher Carey of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday morning. Born July 3, 1946 at Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Samuel and Betty Allgood Dutcher. She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1964 and remained active with the class reunion committee. On July 4, 1964 she married Stephen Carey at the Smartsburg Christian Church. He survives. Elaine worked for the Journal Review for several years before becoming a homemaker. She was a member of the Crawfordsville Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed flowers. In addition to her husband, surviving family members include her sons Grant (Donna) Carey of Nashville, Tennessee and Greg Carey of Crawfordsville as well as a brother, Steve (Sandy) Dutcher of Crawfordsville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Her family will have a private graveside service Wednesday at Indian Creek Hill Cemetery with her son, Grant Carey, officiating.
