He married Pearl Nadine (Cindy) Scovill March 2, 1940 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., IA. Pearl was born December 26, 1924 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., IA. Pearl was the daughter of Frank Harry Scovill and ma Johanna Biersner. Pearl died November 14, 2004 in Marshalltown, Marshall Co., IA. OBIT: Cindy was born December 26, 1924 in Marshalltown, Iowa the son of Frank and Alma (Biersner) Scovill. She was raised and educated in Marshalltown where she graduated from the Marshalltown High School. On March 2, 1940 in Marshalltown, Iowa she was united in marriage to Norman Boyd Nichols. Following their marriage they made their home in Marshalltown where Nadine was a homemaker and worked for Fisher Controls. In 1959 their family moved to Southern California. While in California she stayed home and raised her children. Their family remained in California she returned to Marshalltown in 2001. Nadine enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo with friends. She was a life long member of the Marshalltown Moose Lodge #313
Nadine is survived by her son Frankie Lyle (Brenda) Nichols of Pomona, Missouri, her son Norman Dale Nichols of Santa Barbara, California, her son Gary Don Nichols of Bakersfield, California, her five grandchildren Rick, Keri, Kelli, Jennifer and Rebecca and her four great-grandchildren.
Nadine was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Boyd in 1992.
