He married Cecial Adell Frakes 1937. Cecial was born September 20, 1921. Cecial was the daughter of Roscoe Leslie Frakes and Clara Trenary. Cecial died January 11, 2000 in Owensboro, Daviess Co., KY.

John Elmer Allgood and Cecial Adell Frakes had the following children:

 16618 i. Joseph Edward¹⁰ Allgood was born in Cannelton, Perry Co., IN July 25, 1938. Joseph died March 31, 1941 in Chambers, Hancock Co., KY.

 16619 ii. Mary Ann Allgood was born in Hancock Co., KY October 17, 1942. Mary died March 18,2020 in Newburgh, warrick co, IN.

 16620 iii. Connie Sue Allgood (living).
