He married Elaine Smith September 11,1959. Elaine was born November 23,1940 in Glenwood, Wheeler Co., GA. Elaine died March 18, 2016 in Wilkes Co., GA. OBIT: Elaine Smith Allgood, born November 23, 1940 in Glenwood, Georgia to the late Hardy and Lillian Smith, passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, March 18, 2016. She was 75 years old. At the young age of 18, Elaine married her husband, Harold, on September 11, 1959 and together they raised one beautiful daughter. Mrs. Allgood was an insurance agent for Thomas Hunt Insurance Company in Warner Robins for many years before retiring. With a deep love for the lake, Elaine and Harold moved to Lake Sinclair following her retirement. She enjoyed shopping and reading, and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest pleasure was spending time with the ones she loved the most. She was a member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church for many years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wilmer Smith. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21st in the chapel of Magnolia Park Mausoleum where she will be laid to rest. The family will visit with friends at the cemetery following the service.
