He married Martha Jane Merritt November 16, 1869 in Franklin Co., NC. Martha was born April 29, 1849 in Baskenville, Meclenberg Co., VA. Martha died April 11, 1906 in Vance Co., NC.

William Michael Henry Ayscue and Martha Jane Merritt had the following children:

 1751 i. Joel Solomon⁸ Ayscue was born May 22,1873.

 1752 ii. Luther (Luke) Benjamin Ayscue was born March 6,1876.

 1753 iii. Florine M Ayscue was born August 2, 1878.

 1754 iv. Fannie Jane Ayscue was born April 26, 1881.

 1755 v. Louise Ayscue was born March 8, 1884.

 1756 vi. Lola Ayscue was born April 13, 1888.
