Sally died September 20, 2008 in Chesapeake, Chesapeake City, VA. OBIT: Sally Lassiter Fitzgerald, 77, of the 1300 block of Linden Ave., passed away Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, in Norfolk. Born in Warrenton, N.C., she was the eldest daughter of the late Theodore and Bessie Jones Lassiter. She was a member of Heritage United Methodist Church and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Sally began her career with BellSouth Telephone Co. at the age of 18. She continued with BellSouth as it changed to C&P and finally Verizon when she retired after more than 38 years of service. Survivors include her two daughters, Michelle Campbell and Valerie Richards and husband Buc, all of Chesapeake; two sisters, Judy Lewis of Warsaw, Va., and Pat Davis, also of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Buddy and Jamie; as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Kathleen Haynes at the Heritage United Methodist Church, 815 Baker Road, Virginia Beach. Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Cremation Society of Hampton Roads.
