Randolph died August 2, 2003 in Hollister, Halifax Co., NC. OBIT: Mr. Randolph Tharrington, 87, of Hollister, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at his residence. Mr. Tharrington was born Nov. 23, 1915, to the late James Allie Tharrington and Annie Porter Tharrington. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Urtie Tharrington West; and three brothers, Willard, James and Charlie W. Tharrington.
He is survived by his wife, Morris Richardson; three daughters, Brenda Lynch of Hollister, and Barbara Johnston and Effie Neer of Roanoke Rapids; three sons, Grant Richardson, Jimmy Richardson and Daniel Richardson, all of Hollister; three sisters, Katherine T. Reagan of Fort Worth, Texas, Mildred T. Webb of Nashville, N.C., and Myrtice T. Hamlet of Portsmouth, Va.; one brother, Freddie Tharrington of Portsmouth; 13 grandchildren, Betty Lynch, Tarshal Lynch, Shawnee Silver, Brandon Richardson, Travis Lynch, April Pair, Hieley Richardson, Desma Richardson, Heaven Richardson, Josh Richardson, Shane Carter, Bradley Love and Somer Love; and eight great-grandchildren, Angel Lynch, Hannah Lynch, Dylan Lynch, Lonte Jones, Shannon Silver, Matthew Lynch, Nadia Pair and David Pair.
Services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 6, at St. Gidion Baptist Church. The Rev. John Lee officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
He married twice.
Randolph Tharrington and Ada Virginia Parker had the following child:
