Dwight died June 19, 2010 in Indianola, Warren Co., NC. OBIT: Dwight Dop, 56, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 22, at the First Assembly of God Church 1700 West 2nd Ave. in Indianola with Pastor John Meaux and Pastor Guy Puthoff officiating. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 21 at the First Assembly of God Church where family will be present to greet friends from 5:30 - 8 p.m.. Dwight was born to Marvin VonDale and Doris (Cottrell) Dop on March 6, 1954 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a 1972 graduate of Indianola High School. Dwight married the love of his life Diana Lynn Walker on April 8, Dwight will be remembered for his love of the Lord, his wife and family, and the quiet life of rural Iowa as well as his generosity and loving acceptance of everyone he knew. Dwight is survived by his wife Diana of Indianola; daughter, Summer (Andy) Scott of Des Moines; son, Chad (Megan Dolph) Dop of Lacona; grandchildren, Miles and Blake Scott, and Paighton and Cael Dwight Dop; mother, Doris Dop; brother, Dennis (Sandy Green) Dop; sister, Darlene Bradley all of Indianola; mother and father-in-law Lowell and Marilyn Walker of Ackworth; many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
