He married three times. He married Mary Louise May November 14,1941 in Dillion, SC. Mary was born September 4,1925 in Louisburg, Farnklin Co., NC. Mary was the daughter of Shem Kearney May III and Vulah Irene McGhee. Mary died October 28,1963 in Columbia, Richland co., SC. He married Josephine Wrenn June 1966. Josephine was born November 7,1922 in Durham, Durham Co., NC. Josephine was the daughter of Claude Lee Wrenn and Allie Blanche Fuller. Josephine died October 18, 2009 in Durham, Durham Co., NC. OBIT: Josephine Wrenn Smith, 86, of Durham, died Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Smith was a daughter of the late Claude Lee and Allie Blanche Fuller Wrenn and was preceded in death by her husbands, Woods Keith and Leslie A. Smith.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Strickland Funeral Home with the Rev. Wes Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her stepdaughter, Patricia S. Branch of Mt. Airy; stepson, L. Dean Smith of Jacksonville; brother and sister-in-law, Claude L., Jr. and Mary Lillian Wrenn of Youngsville; sister-in-law, Gertrude Wrenn of Henderson; granddaughter, Pamela Burton of Mt. Airy; nieces, Mary Iva Nunnery and husband, Larry Nunnery of Fayetteville, Becky Rowe and husband, Michael Rowe, Sr. of Louisburg, Patricia Senical and husband, Mike Senical of Charlotte; nephews, Claude L. Wrenn, III of Youngsville and Ronnie F. Wrenn of Wendell; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews..

Leslie Allen Smith and Mary Louise May had the following children:

 15192 iii. Gensie Louise Smith was born in Columbia, Richland co., SC October 28,1963. Gensie died October 28, 1963 in Columbia, Richland co., SC.
