He married Irene Elizabeth Morgan December 22,1945 in Mecklenburg Co, VA. Irene was born March 16, 1925. Irene was the daughter of James L Morgan and Virginia Bohannon. Irene died October 1, 2004. OBIT: Irene Morgan Allgood, 79, of Boydton, died Oct. 11, 2004. She was a member of Christ Chapel Episcopal Church and was retired from Herbert Drug Company. She was the widow of James T. "Smokey" Allgood and was also preceded in death by her brother, Billy Morgan.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James Jr. and Mary Starling Allgood of Alberta and Michael and Yvonne Allgood of Chase City; devoted brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Lois Morgan of South Hill; grandchildren, Jeff Allgood and wife, Sharon, David Allgood and wife, Jessica, and Kristin Allgood.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Boydton Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Boydton Life Station, P.O. Box 182, Boydton, Va. 23917, or American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 102454, Atlanta, Ga. 30368-2454. Wood Funeral Service, Chase City, is in charge of arrangements
