Agnes died September 9, 2010 in Jefferson, Ashe Co., NC. OBIT: Agnes Allgood Waters, 93, of Millers Creek, died Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of the late George and Essie Greene Allgood. Wife of the late Travis Waters, they were long time residents of Millers Creek where they operated an apple orchard for many years on their farm. Mrs. Waters was a skilled seamstress and sewed tirelessly for friends and family. She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church and enjoyed using her sewing skills to participate in church crafts fairs.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Schmidt of West Jefferson and Linda Hershberger and husband David of Moore, South Carolina; one grandson, Kyle Hershberger of Marietta, Georgia; and one niece, Sandra Blankenship of Deep Gap. She also leaves Ronnie and Jan Miller, who were like a son and another daughter, plus many beloved cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 o’clock Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Sherrill Wellborn and the Rev. Mike Church officiating. Burial will follow in Mountlawn Memorial Park
She married William Travis Waters. William was born Jujne 23,1914 in Wilkes Co., NC. William was the son of William FRanklin Waters and Nancy Adelaide Church. William died September 14,1992 in North Wilkesboro, Wilkes Co., NC.
