Dan died July 16, 2011 in Kennett Square, Chester Co., PA. OBIT: Dan Richard Gill died on July 16, 2011 in Kennett Square, PA. Dan was born in South Hill, VA on February 24, 1925, the son of Henry and Grace Gill. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in the Pacific theater as pilot of a B-29 bomber. In 1947, he married Winnifred Houser of Richmond and began his college career at Virginia Tech, graduating in 1951 with two engineering degrees. He spent most of his business career at Lukens Steel Company, Coatesville, PA and retired in 1989.
Dan is survived by his wife Winnifred Houser Gill, his two brothers Robert Garland Gill and Kennith Gill, both of Richmond, his two children Susan Weiss and Steven Gill, and his five grandchildren Chris, Chloe, Katie, Sarah, and Kenny. His ashes were interred in Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, VA on Saturday, June 9, 2012.
