Hazel died JJune 30, 2003 in Payson, Gila Co., AZ. OBIT: Hazel C. Barton, 87, of Payson, died June 30, 2003. She was born Jan. 24, 1916 in Paducah, Texas.

#Mrs. Barton had been a resident of Arizona for 71 years and a business woman for 30. She was very active in politics and served as PTA president. She was a member of BPOE, Women of the Moose, the American Legion and very active with the rodeo committee. She was queen of the Old-Timers Rodeo.

#She is survived by daughters, Valeta C. Anglemire and Rita Faye Krieger, both of Payson; son Dennis E. Barton of Marion, Kan.; sisters, Rozella Pellham, Opal Hansen and Iris Hargrove, all of Sun City; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

#She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. (Bill) Barton.

#A funeral service was held July 3 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home. Interment was at Greenwood Memory Lawn in Phoenix.

She married twice. She married William (Bill) Charles Barton. William was born June 23, 1911 in Mayer, Yavapai Co., AZ. William was the son of R. T. Barton and Ellen Sterling. William died December 22,1974 Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ. She married (____) Lemley.
