OBIT: Betty Lou Wilkerson, age 83, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 2:52 AM, Thursday, July 31, 2014, at her home under the care of St. Anthony's Hospice.
Betty was born in Henderson County, KY to Corneal & Anna Hungate. She was one of several children. Betty along with her siblings grew up in the Scuffletown Bottoms on the river in Reed. Betty married Charles E. Freels and together they had three children. In 1970, Betty married Thomas Wilkerson, together they enjoyed going dancing at the Moose Lodge. Betty was a member of the Moose Lodge # 732 and Holy Name. At the church she helped coordinate and prepare bereavement dinners for local families. Betty loved to cook for family and friends, especially when they would gather at her house. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. Betty retired in 1987 from Artfaire after 10 years of service.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Wilkerson, son Charles Daniel Freels, her parents, 2 brothers Tom & William Hungate, and sister Joann Tillerson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Larry McBride at 11:00 AM, August 2, 2014 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, Henderson, KY. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Henderson, KY. There will be no visitation.
