Arla Faye10 Funk (Viola A.9 Newnum, Ida Ann8 Allgood, James Spencer7, Spencer6, Edward5, William4 Algood, Edward3 Allgood, William2, Edward1 Algood) was born in Danville, Vermilion Co., IL November 3, 1939. Arla died October 16, 2008 in Williston, Williams Co., ND. OBIT: Faye Eide, 68, of Williston and formerly of Alamo, ND, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2008, at the Mercy Medical Center in Williston, ND.
Faye was born on November 3, 1939, at Danville, Illinois to Forrest and Bertha (Pritchard) Funk. She was raised and educated there. Faye moved to Williston in 1966.
Faye married Lowell Eide of Alamo on April 20, 1968 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Later, they moved to their farm north of Alamo. They continued to live there until the fall of 2000, when they moved to Williston due to Faye’s declining health.
In the spring of 2001, Lowell donated a kidney to Faye, the first non-matching donor to do so in Bismarck. Faye suffered a stroke in the spring of 2005. Thereafter she remained at home under the care of her husband until March of 2007 when she entered the Bethel Lutheran Home.
Faye was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Alamo. She was a very good cook and a talented seamstress, and shared her gift of sewing with family and friends. She also enjoyed working with genealogy and spending time with her friends at the Alamo Senior Citizens. Faye loved to play games and cards, especially pinocle. She cherished time spent with her grandkids too.
Faye is survived by her loving husband, Lowell of Williston; a daughter, Yvonne (Darrell) Wilkerson of Williston; four grandchildren, Samantha of Minot, ND, Nicole of Minot, Amanda of Minoa, NY, and Austin of Williston; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice Funk of Covington, IN, Betty Sipes of Hyde Park, UT, and Arletta Parry of Nevada; a brother, Dean Funk of Georgia; sisters-in-law, Donna (Dean) Skabo of Grenora and Sharon (Joyce) Knudsvig of rural Alamo; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She married Lowell Eide April 20, 1968. Lowell was born August 23,1939.
Arla Faye Funk and Lowell Eide had the following child:
