George died January 20, 2007 in Winnsboro, Wood Co. TX. OBIT: Services for George V. Metzel III, 66, of Winnsboro, Texas, will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 22, 2007, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer, with the Rev. Ray Thompson and Scott Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Cemetery in Wood County. Mr. Metzel passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007, in Winnsboro. Mr. Metzel was born March 2, 1940, in Ada, Okla., to George V. Metzell II and Mary Algood Metzel. He was a pastor for Chapel in the Woods Christian Fellowship at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Karen Metzel of Winnsboro; sons, Alan Metzel of Winnsboro, Neal Metzel of Raleigh, N.C., Joe Metzel of Tulsa, Okla., and Kevin Mullen of Tulsa, Okla.; daughter, Janell Branner of Claremore, Okla.; sister, Anna Mary Meyer of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Mike Maddox, Jeff Traylor, Joyey Hector, Todd Barr, Steve York and Paul Marsh. Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Pate, Kurt Traylor, Matt Turner, Keith Tate, Ronnie McNeel, Tim Russell and Bryan Mauk. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. today, January 21, 2007, at the funeral home.
