Iva died November 17, 2000 in Ringgold, Bienville Parish, LA. OBIT: Iva June McGinty Nelson, 75, of Red River Parish, a lifetime member of Springhill Baptist Church and a retired employee of Schumpert Hospital died Friday, November 17, 2000 at Highland Hospital.
Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of her life on her birthday, Sunday, November 19, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Springhill Community Baptist Church out of Ringgold, LA. Officiating will be Bro. Eric Hodge. Interment will be at Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 18, 2000 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, June G. and Ruby McGinty of Loggy Bayou, LA and ex-husband, Floyd "Buck" Nelson of Yakima, WA.
She is survived by a daughter, Marsha Nelson Loftin and a son-in-law, Albert "Shorty" Loftin of Loggy Bayou, LA; one sister, Leora McGinty Shrell and husband, Darwin Shrell of Baton Rouge, LA; two grandchildren, Brady Alsup and wife, Connie of Shreveport, LA and Misty Wood and husband, Chris of Garland, TX; four great-grandchildren, Wesley and Abbie Gail Alsup and Sachse and Darren Wood; two step grandchildren, Peanut Loftin and Misty Loftin LaTour and husband, Clayton of Womack, LA; one step great-grandchild, Lilly LaTour; two nephews, John Shrell of North Carolina and Kevin Shrell of Loggy Bayou, LA.
She married Floyd (Buck) Nelson.
