George died January 19, 2007 in Temple, Carroll Co., GA. OBIT: Age 79, son of the late Arion Lumpkin Yearty and Mattie Ethel Brooks Yearty.
A retired salesman, a Veteran of The United States Army and a Member of Liberty Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mozelle Rabun Yearty, sisters, Clara Nell Gentry, Mary Jo Garner, Earlene Waddell, Frances Bishop, Trixie Yearty, Irma Bell Yearty, Margaret Yearty, and Thelma Yearty and a brother, Marion Yearty.
Survivors include daughters and sons in law, Teresa & Roger Wankel of Blue Ridge, GA and Becky & Eugene Railey of Temple; sister and brother in law, Peggy & Chet Pointer of Auburndale, FL; sister in law, Mary Yearty of Buchanan; brothers in law, Jerrill Garner of Temple and Jerry Waddell of Temple; grandchildren, Scott & Colleen Wankel of Boston, MA, Stephen Wankel of Tucker, GA, Joey & Jennifer Engelbird of Carrollton and Jason & Eva Engelbird of Temple; one great-grandchild, Sara Engelbird of Carrollton.
He married Mary Mozelle Rabun. Mary was born January 5, 1932 in Carroll Co., GA. Mary was the daughter of John Bruce Rabun and Manda Robinson. Mary died June 18, 2006 in Temple, Carroll Co., GA. OBIT: Age 74, the daughter of the late John Bruce Rabun and Manda Robinson Rabun.
A Member of Liberty Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Willis Rabun and John Rabun, sister, Johnny Lou Rabun, sisters, Jean Lewis and Virginia "Ginny" Maddox.
Survivors include her husband, George "Tom" Yearty of Temple; children, Teresa & Roger Wankel of Blueridge and Rebecca "Becky" & Eugene Railey of Temple; sisters, Joy Morris of Temple, Janice Akin of Carrollton and Judy Spratlin of Athens; four grandchildren, Scott Wankel, Stephen Wankel, Joey & Jennifer Engelbird, Jason & Eva Engelbird and one great-granddaughter, Sara Engelbird.
George Thomas Yearty and Mary Mozelle Rabun had the following children:
