Walter died Jujly 17, 2002 in Randolph Co., NC. OBIT: Walter Lee Lineback, Jr., 84, of 3505 McKnight Mill Road, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002 in Randleman.

The funeral will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel, conducted by Rev. Roger Motsinger. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.

A native of Forsyth County, Mr. Lineback was born October 6, 1917, to Walter Lee Lineback, Sr. and Flora Iris Lineback.

He was a member of the Greensboro Lions Club, coached baseball for 20 years and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Lineback served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a building contractor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alma and by his parents and brothers, Ed Lineback and Merlin Lineback.

Survivors include daughter and husband, Ann and Bob Via of Cary; sons, Norman Lineback and wife, Pat of Greensboro, Wayne Lineback and wife, Lora of Randleman and Jerry Lineback and wife, Judy of Reidsville; sisters, Mozelle Holt , Opal Smith, Evelyn Terry all of Greensboro, Mary Ellen Pegram of Cameron and Doris Newman of Lawton, Okla.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service and other times at the home of his son, Wayne Lineback, 136 Hockett Dairy Rd., Randleman.

He married Alma Ree Dudley. Alma was born Septembe 14, 1916. Alma was the daughter of Gade Dudley. Alma died February 17, 1999 in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC.
