He married Margaret Lou Card November 29, 1952 in Mecklenberg Co., VA. Margaret was born May 11, 1933 in Chase City, Mecklenburg Co., VA. Margaret was the daughter of Gregg Card and Nealie Adcock. Margaret died June 25, 2013 in Halifax Co., VA. OBIT: Margaret C. Shearin, 80, of Chase City, VA, passed away on June 25, 2013. She was born on May 11, 1933 in Chase City, VA, to the late Gregg Card and Nealie Adcock Card. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce S. Yancey and her husband, W.A. of Chase City, VA, and Ann S. Brewer and her husband, Eddie of Chase City, VA; three grandchildren, Tracey Y. Nipper and her husband, Todd, Brandon S. Rockwell and his wife, Kari, and Justin A. Yancey; and five great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Herbert D. Shearin, Jr. Mrs. Shearin was a life time member of New Hope Baptist Church and the treasurer for many years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Woodland Cemetery with Reverend Mike Reynolds officiating.
