He married Edith Mae Pierce July 3,1936 in Chase City, Mecklenburg Co., VA. Edith was born January 31, 1917 in Amelia Co., VA. Edith was the daughter of Walter Pierce and Nora B.Ward. Edith died June 15, 2005 in Mount Grayson, Grayson Co., VA. OBIT: Mrs. Edith Wilkerson Tolliver, 88, of Chase City, passed away Wednesday, June 15.
She was retired from Craddock-Terry Shoe Corporation and a member of Mr. Zion Baptist Church. Mrs. Tolliver was the widow of Lucius Wilkerson and John Tolliver, and is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Cary Joines of Chase City, Irene Carnes and Joe Jackson of Richmond, Betty and Ryland Bolick of Chase City; three half brothers, Robert Hash of Woodbridge, Ralph Hash of Lunenburg Court House, William Hash of Chase City; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Coan Agee officiating. Interment will follow in Mr. Zion Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Halifax Regional Hospice, 2204 Wilborn Ave., South Boston, Va. 24592. Wood Funeral Service, in Chase City, is in charge of arrangements
