He married Crystal Dot Isley August 31, 1917 in Clinton Co., IN. Crystal was born July 12, 1888 in Vermillion Co., IN. Crystal was the daughter of Charles A. Isley and Serena Elzada Bonebrake. Crystal died November 9,1965.

7439 i. Margaret Elzada10 Phipps was born in Kingman, Fountain Co., IN August 9, 1919. Margaret died April 3,1994. She married Merrill Edward Brown January 16, 1942 in Montgomery Co., IN. Merrill was born March 26, 1917 in Kingman, Fountain Co., IN. Merrill was the son of Hiram M. Brown and Lulu Towell. Merrill died February 17, 2012 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., IN. OBIT: Merrill E. Brown of Veedersburg died at 2:34 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital at Lafayette. He was 94.
Mr. Brown and his wife Margaret moved to the Mississippi Delta in 1951 where they farmed, growing cotton and soybeans. In 1984, after retiring from 33 years of farming in the south, they returned to Indiana. He was a member of the Veedersburg United Methodist Church.
He graduated from Kingman High School in 1935, and was schooled one year at Central Normal at Danville, Ind. He was drafted into the Army Medical Corps in 1942 and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a sergeant and X-ray technician.
He was born March 26, 1917, at Kingman, to Hiram and Lulu (Towell) Brown. He married Margaret Phipps on Jan. 16, 1942, at Terre Haute. She died in 1994.
Surviving family include: nieces and nephews, Mike and Beth Ann Dehaas of Hillsboro, Ohio, Michael and Sue Miller of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Katie Farmer of Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral service are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Dickerson Funeral Home at Veedersburg, with Pastor Matt Swisher officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 288. Friends may call from 5 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Bonebrake Cemetery, Veedersburg.
