He married Maggie Gladys Harris. Maggie was born August 14,1925 in Durham, Durham Co., NC. Maggie was the daughter of Isaac Rufus Harris and Betty Ann Riggsbee. Maggie died March 28, 2006 in Raleigh, Wake Co. NC. OBIT: Mrs. Thompson was a native and lifelong resident of Durham, daughter of the late Isaac Rufus Harris and Betty Ann Riggsbee Harris.

She was a loving mother, housewife and gave years of her life to care giving of family members and others. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sons, Bobby Thompson and wife, Gloria, of Eden, John Thompson and wife, Patricia, of Raleigh, Cecil W. Thompson of the home; three daughters, Deborah Kay Arnold and husband, Sterling, of Spotswood, NJ, Linda F. Pennington and husband, Wade, of Franklinton and Brenda L. Barnett and husband, Johnny, of Creedmoor; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Thompson.

Benjamin Nathan Thompson and Maggie Gladys Harris had the following children:

 39138 vi. Cecil Wade Thompson was born in Durham Co., NC April 19,1947. Cecil died August 21, 2015 in Durham Co., NC. OBIT: Cecil Wade Thompson, 68, of Durham passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015. He was a native and lifelong residents of Durham, the son of Nathan Benjamin Thompson and Maggie Gladys Harris Thompson. Cecil served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Rollingview Baptist Church.

Cecil is survived by his brothers, Bobby Edward Thompson of Eden; Johnny Rufus Thompson of Raleigh; sisters, Debra Kay Arnold of New Jersey; Linda Fay Pennington of Franklinton and Brenda Lee Barnett of Creedmoor.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Rollingview Baptist Church, 1709 Baptist Rd., Durham, NC 27703. Rev. Aaron Long will officiate. Burial will be in Rigsbee Cemetery on Baptist Rd. Active pallbearers will be John R. Thompson, Jr., Mike Thompson, Joseph M. Pennington, Richard L. Thompson and Johnny Stanley.
