Rebecca died December 22, 2009 in Jacksonville, Duval Co, FL. OBIT: HOLLINGSWORTH----Rebecca Anne Hollingsworth, age 64 of Jacksonville passed away on December 22, 2009. She was born April 18, 1945 in Columbus, GA, one of 8 children born to Harold J. Pate and Gladys Whitley Pate. Affectionately known as grandma Bee, Rebecca was a very caring and generous wife, mother, and grandmother, and friend. She was predeceased by her husband Doyle Hollingsworth and her brother Edward Pate. She is survived by her daughter Lori Dawn Lee (Scott); her son Mark Edmondson (Gaynor); grandchildren Ashli, Lindsey, Randi, Jarrod, Kaeli, Connor, and Zackery; her great grandson Tres; sisters Eleanor Shurr and Susan Schueller; brothers James, Michael, Jerome, and Thomas Pate. Funeral services in celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 26, 2009 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 7673 Collins Rd., Jacksonville, FL. Rebecca will be laid to rest with her husband in the Garden of the Last Supper at Jacksonville Memory Gardens. Family members and friends will gather from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at the church.
She married Doyle Edward Hollingsworth 1980. Doyle was born November 9, 1931 in Transylvania, NC. Doyle was the son of Columbus B Hollingsworth and Essie C Talley. Doyle died June 28, 2007. OBIT: HOLLINGSWORTH Funeral services for Doyle Edward Hollingsworth, 75, will be held 11AM Monday, July 2, 2007 at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1176 LaBelle Street, Jacksonville, Florida with Rev. Tim Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery with police honor guard. Mr. Hollingsworth went home to be with his Heavenly Father on June 28, 2007 at the Acosta-Rua Hospice Center. He served his country proudly in the United States Army serving in the Korean Conflict. Doyle then went on to serve the Jacksonville community for 27 years of dedicated service as a police officer with the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office. He was a member of the F.O.P., The Retired Cops, and the American Legion Post # 137. Mr. Hollingsworth is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Becky Pate Hollingsworth; son, Mark Edmondson- Hollingsworth and his wife Gaynor; daughter, Lori Lee and her husband Scott; brother, Thomas William Hollingsworth; seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Jarrod, Connor, Ashli, Randi, Kaeli and Zack, and many other loving family members and friends. Mr. Hollingsworth was devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him
