He married Margaret Imogene Collins November 26, 1955 in Cook Co., IL. Margaret was born August 16, 1930. Margaret was the daughter of Lloyd Collins and Nellie M Cansler. Margaret died October 27, 2002.

James Garland Turpin and Margaret Imogene Collins had the following children:
