772. Nancy Elizabeth Jane.6 Morris (Richard Ivey5, Nancy Elizabeth4 Allgood, John Young3, William2 Algood, Edward1 Allgood) was born in Meriweather Co., GA May 15, 1840. Nancy died April 16, 1920 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Mrs Jane Newsome, age 80 years, died yesterday morning at 5:00 o'clcok at the residence of Mr and mrs Samuel Hall on the Salem road, two miles west of Phenix City, of old age and general debility. Besides her husband, J. C. Newsome, she is survived by four sons, John, Thomas and Joseph Newsome, of Phenix City and Love Newsome of Norfold, Va; four daughters, Mrs Ligie Cooper, Mrs Barber Hall and Misses Ema and Daisy Newsome of Phenix City; two brothers, J. W. and I. B. Morris, of Langdale, Al.; three sisters, Mrs H. J. Wilkinson, Malone Ala.; Mrs Fletcher Lynch, Octaha, Okla and Mrs Laura Bishop, Athens, Ga. She was a devoted member of Bethany Congregational Church. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clcok. The Rev Studges of the Congregational Church of Phenix City will conduct the service. Interment will be in the Newsome Burial grounds.

She married James (Jim) Carter Newsome December 12, 1863 in Muscogee Co., GA. James and Nancy were married by Rev. Jason Wadlaw.

James was born May 13, 1846 in Harris Co., GA. James was the son of John Newsom and Talitha C. Pike. James died August 7, 1921 in Russell Co., AL. J. C. Newsome, 75, confederate veteran, died yesterday morning at the home of his son-in-law, M. M. Cooper, four miles west of Phenix City, after an illness of more than four years. Mr Newsome was an active member of Bethany Congregational Church of Phenix City for more than 30 years. He was also a member of he Masonic Lodge in Phenix City. Surviving are four sons, John Francis Newsome, Phenix City, T. L. Newsome, Langdale, Ala, John Fletcher Newsome, Phenix City and L. P. Newsome, Norfold, Va.; four daughters, Mrs Lizzie Cooper, Miss Emma and Miss Daisy Newsome, all of whom live four miles west of Phenix City and Mrs Barbara Hall of Phenix City; four brothers, J. F. Newsome and P. O. Newsome both of Phenix City, H. A. Newsome, Girard, Ala. and g. L. Newsome, who lives two miles out on the Crawford road,; two sisters, Mrs Abbie Stevens and Miss Lizzie Newsome, both of Phenix City. Funeral services will be hold from the residence of M. M. Cooper this afternoon at 2:00 o' clock. Rev W. E. Carter officiating. Interment will be in the Newsome family cemetery.

2805 v. Xirlena Talitha (Ema) Newsome was born in Russell Co., AL February 19, 1871. Xirlena died March 31, 1955 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Grave marker shows her name spelled as Xulemma Newsom. All other family documents spell it as Xirlena. Xirlena was buried at the Newsome Cemetery, Phenix City, AL

+ 2806 vi. Joana Abigale (Barbara) Newsome was born August 5, 1872.

+ 2807 vii. Joseph Fletcher Newsome was born January 31, 1874.

2809 ix. Laura Daisy Newsome was born in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL November 12, 1878. Laura died September 26, 1958 in Phenix City, Russell Co., AL. Laura never married. She was buried at the Newsome Cemetery, Phenix City, AL
