Elizabeth died July 15, 1913 in Russell Co., AL. He married Mamie (Patsy) Spivey 1914. Mamie was born 1887. Mamie died February 11, 1943. Obit: February 12,1943 Funeral services for Mrs Mamie Newsome, 57, 903 Fifteenth Street, Phenix City, who died at City Hospital yesterday afternoon after an illness of two weeks, will be help at Britton & Dobbs Chapel at 3:30 pm today. The Rev Paul White will officiate and burial will be in Riverdale Cemetery. Mrs Newsome is survived by two sons, Thomas L. Newsome of Phenix City and Cpl George M. Newsome of the Army overseas, one brother, O. J. Spivey, Wetumpka, Al.; three sisters, Mrs J W. Hargett, Mrs A J. Hamric and Mrs J H. Lloyd, all of Columbus. Nephews will verve as pallbearers: J H Lloyd, R L Lloyd, G L Hargett, W A Hamric and Frank Hamric.

Obit: March 15, 1942 Funeral services for Leslie Newsome, 47, who died Saturday morning at City Hospital, will be held this afternoon at 2:00 o'clcok from the United Congregational Church in Phenix City. Newsome suffered a broken neck in an automobile accident one week prior to his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Newsome; two half-brothers, Thomas Newsome of Phenix City and Marvin Newsome of Columbus; a step-mother, Mrs Patsy Newsome of Phenix City and several aunts and uncles. The following will serve as pallbearers: G. C. Smith, J. A. Sands, Shorty Horn, Charlie Gordy, E. A. Bentley, and Carl Barrington. The interment will be in the Newsome Cemetery. He married May Phillips 1917.
