689. John Franklin⁶ Allgood (Elech Franklin⁵, Charles B.⁴, Edward³, William² Algood, Edward¹ Allgood) was born in Nemaha Co., NE January 10, 1876. John died October 20, 1946 in Peru, Nemaha Co., NE. Obit: Passed Away Sunday Johnnie Franklin Allgood, son of the late Alex and Maggie Allgood, was born Oct. 1, 1876, at Peru, and passed away at his home Sunday, Oct. 20, at the age of 70 years and 19 days. In his early youth he was united with the Baptist church. He was a kind loving husband and father. He spent his entire life in Nemaha county, where he farmed. He was well known throughout this community as a man possessed of many fine characteristics. He was united in marriage to Claudia Adams, Nov. 1, 1899, and to this union there were born nine children, three daughters and six sons. Those left to mourn his passing are: his wife, Claudia; daughters, Mrs. Chas. Blankenship, Peru; Mrs. Clifford Stock and Mrs. Floyd Jennings, Auburn; sons, Arthur F., Ernie A., Ray E., Clyde O., of Peru; Freal J. Allgood, Sidney and Cleo G. Allgood, Auburn. He is also survived by 40 grandchildren, and three brothers and four sisters, besides other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Peru Baptist church, Tuesday, at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Wm. Nollman in charge. Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Pete Pharoah, Mrs. Wm. Thomas, and Fred Gilbert. Pallbearers were: Fred Wrightsman, Glen Wrightsman, Ward Shiveley, Clyde Frans, Walter Hall and Ed Schriner. Interment was made at Peru cemetery [Mt. Vernon] with Casey and Timm funeral home in charge of arrangements.

He married Claudia H. Adams November 1, 1899 in Nemaha Co., NE. Claudia was born February 29, 1880 in Nemaha Co., NE. Claudia was the daughter of Charles Adams and Martha Wheeler. Claudia died March 31, 1961 in Nemaha Co., NE.

John Franklin Allgood and Claudia H. Adams had the following children:

+ 2595 iii. Ernest (Earnie) Alex Allgood was born February 14, 1904.

+ 2597 v. Raymond (Ray) Everett Allgood was born August 22, 1908.

+ 2598 vi. Orville Clyde Allgood was born January 4, 1912.

+ 2599 vii. Cleo Glen Allgood was born 1913.

+ 2600 viii. Martha Irene Allgood was born February 18, 1915.

2601 ix. Myrtle Allgood was born in NE 1918. Myrtle died 2011 in Ozark, Christian Co., MO. She married Floyd Jennings.
